Arthur Terrell Nicks, Jr.

EASTLAND- Arthur Terrell Nicks, Jr. passed away July 28, 2016 in Eastland. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 30, 2016

at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland; with burial to follow at Alameda Cemetery. A visitation will be 1 hour before the service.

 

   He was born in San Angelo, Texas, to Lucille Holden and Arthur Terrell Nicks, Sr. on November 17, 1924. He moved to

Adamsville at an early age and attended school and graduated from high school in Lampasas, Texas. Arthur went into the

Air Corps at the age of 17 and was stationed in the Philippines for 2 years during World War II. After serving his country

for 4 years, he went to work for Lone Star Gas Company. He married Dorothy Jobe in 1972 and moved to Irving, Texas.

In 1987 after 38 ½ years with Lone Star Gas, he retired and moved to Eastland. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

 

   Arthur loved to hunt and fish. Last year he had spent 50 years with his buddies at the hunting camp in Fredericksburg. 

 

   He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 44 years; one daughter, Terry Linex of Cedar Hill; 2 step-daughters, Sherry Jobe of

Caddo Mills and Barbara Love of Ranger; eight granddaughters; one grandson; one brother, Bill Nicks of Bastrop, Texas,

and a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, an infant son,

three brothers, and one sister.
