by: Debra Eaton

The following statement was received from the Eastland County Sheriff's Office:

'On 6/17/2014 the Eastland County Sheriff's Office was attempting to serve a warrant on a person wanted out of Comanche County.

The person was located by the Lake Leon Baptist Church on Farm to Market 2214, driving a 3 wheeler. Upon seeing the deputies

the subject took off running. An extensive search of the area by the Eastland County Sheriff's, Texas Highway Patrol, Eastland Police

Department, Comanche County Sheriff's Office and the DeLeon Police department was conducted but the person was not located.'

According to Chief Deputy, Randy Hooks the suspect is "well known" to authorities in the area and has outstanding warrants for

Burglary of a Habitat and Theft. He is from Gorman and is thought to have relatives living near Rucker, Texas, which is located on

State Highway 6, five miles northwest of De Leon in Northern Comanche County. Authorities feel that the suspect is no longer in the

Lake Leon area but rather may be "laying low" in or near Gorman or Rucker.

Chief Deputy Hooks has also confirmed that a gun was located near the 3 wheeler, which the suspect abandoned when he fled

authorities yesterday.

As of this time, the search has ended and the fugitive remains at large!
