Dorothy was born on November 22, 1925 in Cisco, Texas. She was the second of two children of Eldon Dean Anderson and Myrtie Hildreth
Anderson. Dorothy was raised in Cisco, Texas, where she graduated from Cisco High School. She attended the University of Texas, Austin,
and thereafter graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Home Economics. In addition to school, she was a member of the
San Souci Social Club (Kappa Alpha Theta) and the Home Economics Club.
After college, she taught school in Brownfield, Texas. On January 27, 1949, she married the love of her life, W. H. "Bill" Hoffmann, Sr.
They made their home in Eastland, Texas, where they raised 3 children. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She lived life to the fullest and was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Her love of the Lord was evident in everything
she did, and it served to light her path on this earth.
While living in Eastland, she was actively involved in the First United Methodist Church of Eastland, and later while living in Fort Worth,
Christ Chapel Bible Church. She had non-stop energy and loved to swim, paint, sculpt, cook and shop. Surpassing her incredible outward
qualities, her true inward beauty and loving spirit illuminated every aspect of her life and put smiles on everyone who came in contact with her.
Dorothy leaves behind her family, who will always remember her for her steadfast faith in our Heavenly Father, and the courage and
grace she displayed throughout her life. She will always serve as an inspiring example of a Godly woman who lived her life for Christ.
