Wayne Kea Obituary
Wayne Kea, 97, of Eastland and formerly of De Leon, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in Eastland, with his family by his side. He was born July 9, 1918, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Felix Lynn Kea and Mertie Cozart Kea. Wayne married Vesta Elizabeth Golden September 10, 1938.
Wayne lived in the De Leon community most all of his life. He was a long-time member of Fair Haven Baptist Church of De Leon. Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy during the WWII Era. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. He dedicated much of his time to raising goats. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Jackson Ralph Kea and wife, Beth, and Delmer Eugene Kea and wife, Dorothy; grandchildren, Pamela Chaney, Monty Kea, Christina Jackson and husband, Bryan, James Russell and wife, Kim, Emory Lynn Kea and wife, Jane, Marshall Kea, Mack Martin and wife, Glenda, Kathy Richardson and husband, Billy, and Jody Kea and wife, Kelly; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nadine Kea, Ellen Kea and Betty Golden; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Wayne was preceded by his wife, Vesta Elizabeth Kea; son, Melvin Wayne Kea; parents, Felix and Mertie Kea; and four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 1:30 p.m., at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Graveside services, with Military Honors, followed in De Leon Cemetery.
