The Cisco Senior Nutrition Program’s

“Are the seniors in your life eating well?” is the question we posed last week and will look at again today.  Eating well is important at any age, but health issues and physical limitations sometimes make it difflcult for seniors, the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. population, to get the nutrients they need for a balanced diet.  One study released in 2014 stated that poor nutrition and/or mal-nutrition occur in up to 50 percent of the elderly pop-ulation.  But the symptoms of malnutrition (weight loss, disorientation, lightheaded-ness, lethargy and loss of appetite) can easily be mis taken for illness or disease.
