The Gorman Lady Panthers opened their new basketball season this past week when the Priddy Lady Pirates visited the Panther Gymnasium. Priddy had a hard time in the 1st quarter making buckets, scoring only 6 points while the home Lady Panthers put up 11. The home team then equaled their output in the 2nd quarter to take a 22-15 halftime lead. The game got closer in the third quarter because Priddy held the Lady Panthers to just 9 3rd quarter points while putting up 11. To start the final quarter, Gorman owned a slim 31-26 lead. The play was tense in the final period, but the Lady Panthers pulled it out late for a 2-point win, 44-42.
