Partnering to Support Victims of Child Abuse

Partnering to Support Victims of Child Abuse

 This upcoming weekend Saturday, June 6th the Eastland County Children’s Advocacy Center is hosting its 2nd Annual Benefit Team Roping “Roping up Child Abuse” at the Leon River Cowboy Church Arena.  The day’s events begin at 10:00 am and will include Mutton Bustin, a chuck wagon cook-off competition, and team roping. All proceeds from this event go to the Eastland County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Community members may assist the Eastland County Children’s Advocacy Center by donating privately or participating in the Children’s Advocacy Center fundraising activities, like the Benefit Team Roping on June 6, 2015. As individuals we can also work together to support child victims of abuse or neglect by:

educating ourselves on the signs of child abuse;

reporting all suspected instances of child abuse;

respecting the privacy of child abuse victims and their families by not sharing or posting names, pictures, or identifying information on social media;

talking to the children in our lives about child abuse issues;

believing them when they make an outcry of abuse and reporting it to the proper authorities.

The Children’s Advocacy Center would like to thank all the businesses and community members who have signed up to sponsor the Children’s Advocacy Center Benefit Team Roping and invite everyone out to participate in the day’s events. If you would like more information on the Children’s Advocacy Center, including the upcoming event, services, or how you can recognize, report, or support victims of child abuse and neglect, please call us at 254-629-8229 or log on to our website at www.eastlandcrisis.org.
