Longtime pastor Dr. Shawn Brewer at the close of the morning worship Sunday announced his formal resignation and that he had accepted a pastorate in Lubbock. His planned departure had been talked around town for some time so the announcement was anticipated. His last sermon will be next Sunday when a church farewell dinner is planned for him and Mrs. Brewer.
