Down 14 Three Times, Hoover Shines in Victory
By Stephen Forester

Cisco vs. Wall was touted as one of the best 10 matchups in all of Texas this season. The game had a playoff intensity throughout. There was not an empty seat in Wall, with many fans lining the fence 2-3 deep. And the game was all that was expected. It was a tale of two halves. The first half belonged to the Wall Hawks. Kris Gutierrez had his way with the Lobo defense. The Hawk “veer” was quite successful in the first two quarters, enabling Gutierrez to rack up over 100 yards in the half. The first quarter belonged to the defense. Each team was able to move the ball, but not able to get in the end zone. As the quarter ended, the Hawks were driving down the field and as the 2nd quarter began, Wall took a 7-0 lead. On the Loboes next drive, Taylor Massey was intercepted and the Wall defender ran the INT back for a Hawk score. After a scoreless 1st quarter, Wall had a 14-0 lead with 10 minutes left in the half.
