Bob Grant Hallmark Obituary
Bob Grant Hallmark, 91, of the Nimrod, Texas community passed May 23, 2016 in his home, after a lengthy illness. Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at
Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel officiated by R.D. Childers. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Bob was born May 9, 1925 in the former Dan Horn community to Emory and Inez Hallmark. Bob was the 2nd oldest of five sisters and one brother. Bob married Clara Simpson Knight
in Stephenville Texas on April 17, 1960 and they raised their family in Cisco and Nimrod Texas building a house along the way. Bob was sharp witted and clever, loved telling stories and
conversing with all people. Bob has an amazing memory of the people and places he had experienced. Bob was very humble and a very hard worker. He was a self-employed owner/operator
of a dozer until he was 80 years old. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor. His greatest love was doing anything with his wife Clara with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to her death in 2015.
Bob and Clara were the proud owners of the Poor Farm in Nimrod, Texas. Bob helped his family and others with countless major fix-it projects. Bob was known in the family for his many stories, and his home
spun sayings. Bob was a true husband, a true father, a true friend, and a true inspiration to the very end. John 17:4-“I have glorified thee on earth: I have finished the work which though gravest me to me to do”
Bob is survived by his children: Mary Rogers of Nimrod, Texas. Hazel Grieger and husband Wallace of Irving, Texas. Billy Knight and wife Shelly of Nimrod, Texas. Linda Burns and husband Dale of Midland,
Texas. Sue Tabor and husband Sy of Snyder, Texas. One sister; Murl Stroebel of Cisco. Grandchildren: Chad and Heather Rogers of Nimrod, John Grieger of Big Stone Gap Virginia, Doug Knight of Fort Worth,
Kanitha and Marty Harris of Crosby, Texas, Kelli Grieger of Irving, Holli and Scottie Welch of Tarzan, Texas, Jake and Maci Knight of Coleman, Hailey and CJ Hurst of Olton, Amanda Knight and Shane Gothard
of Nimrod, Cody Knight of Coleman, Logan Tabor of New York NY, Mason Tabor of San Angelo, Texas. Great Grandchildren: Ryan Harris, Clayton Muckleroy, Julie Grieger, Darian Rogers, Peyton Welch,
Allyson Rogers , Justin Grieger, Jackson Welch, Cooper Harris, Kerwin Grieger, Shaylee Knight, Riley Knight, Laurel Kothmann, Shelby Knight, Junie Hurst, Wayne Knight, Eve Knight, Ryan Hurst and
Amelia Knight. Great - Great Grandchild: Kasyn Harris.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Clara, 4 sisters: Cordelia Wende, Maggie Thompson, Mable Nunn, and Margie Nell Nunn. 1 brother: Melbourn Hallmark, 1 son in law: Al Rogers and 1 great grandson: Andrew Hurst.
